Two More Days in Midland. !Mark and Carol head back to NZ on 27 th June

Hi F and F,
Sadly we lose our two wonderful crew today Mark and Carol.
Wonderful support team they have been too. We will miss them.
We drove them to Toronto airport on the Monday morning for their 2 pm flight to Houston then the direct flight to Auckland NZ
We headed off to explore Toronto city after that and also visitedthe Bata shoe museum which we really enjoyed ! Worth a visit!
Gave the history of shoes and also displayed many famous people's foot wear.Included !Marilyn Munroe famous red stiletto shoes,  , the big boots of Elton John , the black heeled pointed Beatles show shoes and even the Dalai Lama's  footwear .
Back home to Lady Erica .

Today, Tuesday we were planning to go to Lions Head but the winds got up making the waves rough and we decided to rest here another day in Midland.
Did a big grocery shop for the week and then went off to find the SS Keewatin. One of the last Edwardian liners built during the period 1900 -1920  that included the Titanic and the Lusitania .
Last year we had been in a museum on the NE Canadian coast in Halifax where we had seen items from the Lusitana. Keewatin had been an amazing old elegant Steamer built for the Canadian Pacific Railways to move European immigrants from the bottom of Georgian Bay to Lake Superior. She had to be cut in half to get through the canal so she  could enter from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie.

With a day in hand Lady Erica got a good inside cleaning and we relaxed the rest of the afternoon.
Hoping to head out early tomorrow , winds willing!
Over and Out,
E and G
