This place is too wonderful not to stay another day! Baie Fine lies between two fingers of quartzite bluffs. The name in French means Slender Bay
Sunny to start today then it overcast but calm weather.4 boats left this morning and then 3 boats arrived into the Pool to anchor. About half power and half sailboats seems to be the ratio.
Leisurely morning follwed by lunch.Just enjoying the peace and wonderful scenery here.
At 2.30 pm we took our dingy and joined our Sailboat friends on Travellers 2 up the narrow Artists Creek which leads into the Artists Lake. Its just off the Pool. Depth was ok at 31/2 to 4 ft and when we arrived at Artists Lake it was covered in lots of water lilies all put in bloom. We even saw a beaver dam on th edge of the lake.
A great site .Shades of Monet's paintings! This was where some of the famous Canadian painters called the Group of 7 were often in residence and painted many scenes from the area.Jane and Artie had brought their paddle boards along so Erica got to try out paddle boarding on this lake . As suggested as it was her first time , she knelt on the board.A wonderful opportunity to see the lilies up close and drink in the tranquil picturesque atmosphere.
Then back to Lady Erica for drinks and nibbles onboard.Another wonderful hour and half spent chatting and enjoying our new friends company. We tried out the Columbia Red Sangria we had brought along from the Longboat Key Restaurant, in Florida.
Later we had a light supper then in the late evening came the mosquito dance!!,
Lots of them flying about inside the boat .Getting to sleep was going to be problematic!
We left the lights on in the cabin ,Erica would lie down as bait, ( they like her) then when the mossies started to hover , Graeme would catch them.We started to loose count how many we caught but eventually we think we got them all.
Over and out,
E and G
