Well what a delightful place Little Current is and we have got to know some of the boaters through the fridaynight Happy Hour and also especially Roy Eaton the Crusers net work Radio Man. Even our friend on Traveller 2 turned up on the second day so we spent some time with them.
Time to do washing and Internet and bloging .Erica also did a little retail therapy and also bought some items for Christmas.
Walked up to the 3 Cows and a Cone icecream store to check out the 30 varieties they offer.
It is great ice cream we have got to say! Had it every day while here.
Also continued to sample the fish tacos at the Anchor Inn.Graeme is addicted especially the Louisiana tartar sauce they put on them. He had them 4 times!
Have to say the Anchor Inn also has the most fabulous desserts! Big temptation!, it is the place to go in this town!
Our extra day here was not planned but as the high winds and rain would have made it very unpleasant to anchor out last night in the Benjamin's Islands , we had to stay on. We got to watch some TV in the afternoon at the Anchor Inn. Lydia Ko in golf and Serena Willaims making history at Wimbledon in the finals.
Our highlight was going to the Cruisers Meeting room at 9 am in the Anchor Inn and watching Roy in action. He does it every day during the summer season.
First he gave the weather reports then the news and after that many boats called in from various parts around GeorgianBay and North Channel giving their position and perhaps a destination.
Two ladies sit beside him writing down every boat name and position, so cruisers can keep up with the whereabouts of their friends and family. It was a real treat to watch him in action, an older gentleman who is friendly and courteous to all who called in.Dont know what they will do when he gives up this job .He has been doing it for many many years.
After the radio broadcast we headed to the Saturday Farmers market and got some goodies including a homemade rhubarb pie. We later shared to with Arnie and Jane ( Traveller 2) on our boat with some Canadian icewine for dessert.
Hoping the weather will be kind and we can head out early in the morning.
Over and Out,
E and G
