We left just after 9 am and arrived about I hour later A short trip! With the very small buoys we had to slow down and keep a good look out as we entered Baddeck Harbour. Its a semi Diurnal tide here and is only about 8 to 9 inches, so really no tide change at all except when there are strong northerly winds.
The Marina here is very nice Friendly staff plus a marine store and help if you need it.We walked into the town and up the hill to the Alexander Graham Bell museum in time for the white glove tour ( they only take six people at a time) and you get to handle some of the artifacts belong to this great inventor. He married Mabel his life long partner who was deaf due to an attack of Scarlet fever as a child. They had met while he was helping her .He was also instrumental in helping Helen Keller.Apart from inventing the telephone, he was also co founder of the National Geographic, helped to invent the Silver Dart aeroplane , and also invented a hydrofoil boat which broke the world speed record , it held the record for many years.Got a icecream on the way back at the Blue Heron store mentioned in the guide book , visited the one supermarket in town and found out info at the visitors centre for the Cabot Trail.
Back to the boat for catch up cleaning and washing. Graeme tried to get help to fix the loose door handle but it was not successful.Seems a part inside the door handle needs to be replaced. We decided against having dinner out and instead had a very tasty chicken dish and rice and veg on board.
The small buoy!
