Well we left our lovely spot in Badeck , had a good stay there.
Morning was sunny and very light winds. What a contrast to yesterday with driving rain and wind so strong you could hardly stand up in it along our trip around the west coast. Seems in this part of the country the extreme weather changes day by day are the norm.
As we were going to anchor out , we left around 11 am for our two hour journey south.
Back through the Barra Strait and into the southern lakes.I called up the shy owner of the Breton
Smokehouse restaurant. They are closed Wed and Thursday sadly but I asked if we could pick up some of their home smoked salmon. She agreed and we were to contact her when we arrived in the Bay.
We anchore in a sheltered past of the large bay.Unlike the Chesapeake Bay, the waters here are much clearer and deep blue, not that nasty brown color. All 5 pm we took the dingy over to the smokehouse and picked up our salmon.Cost $60 Cdn for 794 grams.Sounds a good price to me. We were able to look around the restaurant and they had wonderful views over the water from all the big windows.Sorry to miss the restaurant experience , but at least we got the salmon.
Back to our boat .No new boats had come in, only the restaurant owners sail boat here and a small sailboat owned by the only other house in the Harbour. We sampled a price of the salmon , delicious.
Tonight's dinner consisted of the rest of the pie from last night and salad.
Tranquil scenes as we got ready for bed. Love this anchoring out.
Over and Out,
S and S
