Shippagan here we come Into the Bay of Chaleur

Hi F and F,
We fueled up at 8 am and  were out of the Marina by 8.30am. We were trying to beat the winds due to strengthen late morning . Much better run today , seas a bit rolly but no surprises!
Before we left Escuminac I talked with the locals about the big Fish Factory on the premises .Apparently they supply both Red Lobster and Mc Donald's Restaurants with their seafood. It is a big business.
I was sad to miss Miramichi but was another 30 mms up the river and we needed to keep moving forward. I will rely on Lynn and John's blog to fill me in.
This must be end of the boating season now because we didn't see one boat out on the water today. Arrived at the Shippagan Gully with its many buoys due to severe silting. We both had to really pay attention and then we called for a bridge opening and the buoys changed from red on our starboard to green on our starboard., as soon as we passed under the bridge . Nice little Marina although it was raining quite hard when we docked. Next to the Marina there is a wonderful Marine Aquarium. Just perfect for a miserable day.
Spent a lovely time viewing different fish , took in a movie there and saw a gigantic lobster.Poor thing could hardly move his claws were so large. They can live up to 50 years .
We went for a walk in the small town ,very French and the local cemetery had about three or four names on the headstones over and over, Mallet, Robineau, Dugay . Must be a lot of families related to each other. Back to the boat for a time to relax and a Lets Dish fish dinner onboard.
Over and Out,
S and S.
