We decided to leave at 8 am , so out little flotilla left together with
Morningstar in the lead , us following then the slower boats coming behind .
We had a great trip , averaging about 10 kts and burning only 4.4 miles per hour. The river current going downstream was about 4 to 5 knots so we were aided somewhat . Arrived in around lunch time and were directed to our first ever covered slip. Very different experience.
Much cooler and also a little darker inside the boat.
Terri ( Lucky Ducks) and Erica planned to go shopping , so Erica had booked the courtesy car as soon as she checked in. It turned out to be a 13 person van!
Terri offered to drive as she had had experience driving big vehicles.
We set off feeling like Thema and Louise! Managed to find the big Super Walmart about 25 mins drive away. Terri impressively managed to do u turns and keep us on track when we were unsure of our directions. We were allowed the van for two hours and had to put $15 fuel in it before returning. We were about 20 mins over the time but fortunately our boating firends were the ones wanting it , so no problem.
Everyone had excellent food. We enjoyed once again being with our new boating friends and many stories were told around the dining table. Lots of good laughs also
Then it was time to retire to our boats.
Over and Out,
E and G.
