Hi Everyone
We had a leisurely walk around Georgetown in the morning. This town being the 3 rd oldest in the USA!It is so quaint and we were able to walk past many beautiful old homes most built between 1735 and 1890's .Saw a live oak tree estimated to be about570 years old. Then we wandered to the breakfast place called the Coffee Break Cafe (we ate there in November for Graeme's birthday).Had the delicious omelettes again with grits New York Style and finished our morning at the Independent Seafood Store buying fresh local shrimp for our dinner this evening.
At 10.45 am we set of for the ocean and had a good run all the way to BaldHead Island. We had south west seas and averaged about 20 knots or 22 Mph. Arrived at the Island late afternoon around 4 pm.Went for a nice walk to check out the tall concrete lighthouse ,church, Post office and golf course. This Island can only be reached by boat ,no bridge to connect to the mainland.Has about 1,000 residents mostly part timers. Drinks on board with nibbles followed by our delicious salad and gumbo with the local shrimp and special sausage bought at a farmers market. Lovely way to spend the day! We are truly blessed, Thanks to God!
Over and Out
Erica.
